Aren is a Ph.D. student in the Coulter Dept. of BME at Emory/GT. They are a member of the BrainGate2 clinical research team and a fellow of the NIH Computational Neuroengineering Training Program at GT/Emory. They are interested in understanding upper limb motor control and improving the functionality of upper-limb BCIs for people with tetraplegia. In their undergraduate research, Aren developed BCI decoders for dextrous finger movement and analyzed the stability of intracortical and EMG signals over long periods of time.
