Feng completed his PhD in Neuroscience at Emory. His thesis research, entitled “Overcoming Spatiotemporal Trade-offs in Calcium Imaging Using Deep Learning-based Dynamics Modeling”, focused on developing novel approaches to uncover latent dynamics from neural population activity monitored via two-photon calcium imaging, in collaboration with Prof. Matthew Kaufman’s group at U Chicago. After a brief postdoctoral period in the lab, he began his next position as an Applied Research Scientist in AI/ML at Apple.
